My favorite flower

The lilac bush in our backyard smells so beautiful!

I cut a bouquet for the kitchen. The sweet scent permeates the entire house.

I only wish we could have lilacs all summer long!

Wow, your Lilac has a LOT of blooms on it.....don't think I've seen one that full around here! I agree with you....I wish they lasted all summer long, too! Lilacs are my favorite flowers as well :)

Beautiful!! I agree - the smell is heavenly. Ours didn't do well this year though...only a few blooms. I think maybe it needs to be pruned. It's gotten really tall and lanky.

Benita - Yes, it is profuse this year! More than usual, I think.

You can smell them when you walk into our yard, they are so powerful!
Connie, I'm surprised you can't smell them through my blog! lol

Thanks, Fonda and Heather! I don't know why this one is doing so well. We pretty much ignore it!

Lilacs are my favorite too and I've planted two bushes on each side of our deck staircase. When they are in bloom and the windows are open, you can smell them. I took a huge bouquet to work a couple of weeks ago for my office. My co-workers said they could smell them down the hallway.

Beautiful!! We have two lilac bushes here in the front. Love the smell coming in the front door. I never thought to bring them indoors. Now, do you prune the bush after it blooms? I have been told that I need to do that.
