And now for something completely different...

I took a break from the relentless scrapbooking of school events to document a very different kind of event which takes place periodically in our back yard: The dropping of THOUSANDS of locust pods!

These pictures (fall, 2007) show the pods after they've been raked into piles. You should see them when they're scattered all over the yard (and our neighbor's yard). What a mess! The pods are the bane of Spouse's existence.

May I also say how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this paper by Rocky Mountain Paper? And no, I did not coordinate the bucket and wheelbarrow to match the paper. :-) It's a tiny bit wonderful when your patterned paper just happens to match real life!

Hate the pods as I've had to clean them up at the house in Mauston. Love the paper. Where did you get it? Great LO, Janet. It is always nice to take a break and do a different type of LO.

Thanks, guys! Sharon, that paper is by Rocky Mountain Paper Company. I found it at Memory Bound awhile back. Not sure if they still have it! The tree is a QuicKutz die, exclusive to Hobby Lobby.

Oops, that should be "Rocky Mountain Scrapbook company." :-)

Janet, when I first saw this picture I thought you had a terrible worm problem!! Thank goodness it was just pods (sounds like a horror movie!)

My first thought actually was NOT "How clever of her to buy a wheelbarrow and bucket that mach her patterned paper" but "Wow! It's too bad those things aren't food!"

Nice layout & how neat that the paper went so well!
