Layout share: Prepare yourselves...

I don't want to incite any panic here...but I actually TORE on the layout below.

Yep, you read that right. I TORE.

Of course, I know how to tear. I've taught a lot of people how to tear, in fact. It's just that I never tear because tearing, by its very nature, yields irregular lines. I only like straight lines, thank you very much! I can't tilt anything either, but that's a subject for another day.
My scrapbooking friends give me a lot of grief about these little quirks. :-)

So why, you may ask, did I decide to throw caution to the wind? Well, I decided to use a sketch for the layout below, and since the sketch included a torn strip at the top, I thought I'd do it, too. Believe me, I thought long and hard about it. Do not worry. It will be a very long time before I tear again. I will NOT make this a habit! And I can assure you, I have no plans to tilt anything in the foreseeable future!

Wild and reckless scrapbooking aside, this layout was super fast to complete. I used Scenic Route and Ki paper, a bit of ribbon, cardstock, and some of my beloved (read: hoarded) Chatterbox sticker letters.

I used another Becky Fleck Page Maps sketch for this one. I find that the cards are easy to use...no flipping through pages in a book. It's nice to be able to pull out one sketch at a time.

Now back to our regular (and nicely aligned) programming. :-)

My goodness, that just looks awful. I can't believe you tore? never, ever do it again! Heehee, just a little reverse psychology, it looks great. I don't tilt much either but every once in awhile. I think in your ohonory my next layout will be tilted and involve tearing...so there!

Admit it - it felt good to tear that paper!! LOL Adorable layout, by the way. I love the striped paper at the bottom. And the letter stickers are really cute. TFS!

Phew. So glad I was seated when I read this! ;) Beautiful layout, Janet! I'm a lover of straight lines too which is good since most folks don't want crooked building plans. LOL But, it is fun to let loose once and a while on the scrapbook pages. It took me a long time not to pull out the ruler for every page. :)

Ha! Hooray for us OCDer's!

Page is great. I know what you mean by keeping to straight lines; I would, but I can NEVER seem to get my layouts straight. Daughter is always pointing out the obvious: "You know that isn't straight, don't you?"

I tell her I do it on purpose...

Love this LO-and those sketch cards are the best. You did an excellent job of tearing, i find that it's much quicker than dragging out the ol paper trimmer! But I like to tilt things to... Can't wait to see it IRL tonight at BC!

I have to tear and tilt a lot because...I don't know...I'm like a frustrated perfectionist. Since I can't make anything straight or perfect or even, I just go for a look that's *supposed* to be all cock-eyed!

Very pretty layout & congrats on the tearing!

Mmmm, I don't need to hoard Chatterbox sticker letters, I have the font (Chatterbox CD) and my CraftRobo...wanna come play at my house?;) Did you buy the Silhouette? You could cut them yourself too!!
I'm glad you stepped out of your box to tear...the page looks great! And besides, one can take out aggression (on spouse, etc, lol) while tearing;)

I love this layout, even the tearing. :) I'm not a big fan of tilting either.
