Some layouts are harder than others

Plowing through boxes of photos, I tend to skip over those that are hard to handle. I'm not a fan of scrapbooking holidays under any circumstances, but photos of the last holiday season we shared with my mom are really tough for me. Only recently have I been able to look at those photos, let alone scrapbook them.

But now that I'm on a mission to finish a lot of scrapbooking before graduation, I've forced myself to deal with those subjects. And I'm happy to report that I'm finally finishing up this particularly difficult set of Christmas photos. Hard as it is, I'm glad to have the pages finished and put in the album.

My Ki Memories friends will recognize this paper right away as part of the Christmas set from a few years back. This particular stripe is one of my all-time favorites. I bought several sheets of it and (of course!) only use it a little bit at a time! :-)

Beautiful page and I totally understand regarding how hard some pages can be. I have photos of my mom on our last Christmas together but you could see she was sick (it was before her diagnosis) and I didn't scrapbook them. Connor has a picture of the three of us from that Christmas framed on a bookshelf.

((HUGS)) Stunning layout. I love the grid design and how you let the photos of that special day be the focus. So glad you have these photos & memories.

Thank you, guys. It is so, so hard to deal with these photos. Just when I think I've scrapbooked the hardest ones, I find another significant event to work through. My mom was a big part of our everyday lives, which was wonderful. It is good to get those memories captured.

Special {hugs} to you, Kristina!

Beautiful layout...that KI stripe thing you have going on makes me wish I had a lot more of them in my own stash. It works out so well every time you use it.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to scrap photos of your mom. I get terrified just thinking of losing my own mother someday. I'm glad to see you are finally able to scrap some pages with her and hope that overall it is a healing venture.
