Bad photo, simple layout

Sometimes I have plenty of great photos to use for a scrapbook page, but often I don't. My philosophy is to use what I have. After all, it's the memory that counts, and sometimes even a bad photo can trigger a memory.

Such was the case with the one photo I had from this year's academic lettering ceremony. It was blurry, the audience heads were green, and Daughter was dressed in shorts (she was headed to a show choir practice afterward), but I used it anyway. In fact, I enlarged it and made the most of the colors. Turns out my hoarded Ki Halloween striped paper worked just fine with this bad photo.

The layout itself is based on a sketch from Cathy Zielske's class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. It's a super easy sketch for those single horizontal photo layouts. It even works with bad photos!

I love that you used this photo..what really cracks me up is the green heads! I didn't even notice them until you pointed it out! They look like little green aliens watching the show...:)

I didn't notice them, either! Too funny that you could use the Halloween paper with the alien heads!

Okay, the green alien heads were what I noticed first and then I noticed the KI paper. It's good to use photos like this, Janet. The memory is the most important.

Very cool LO, bad photo and all! It's not bad, it's interesting! What font did you use for the title, I love that!

Thanks, Fonda! Oh, I forgot to mention how I picked the font...it's called Market Deco, sort of an art deco font. The alien heads made me think of Tomorrowland at Disneyworld, which has an art deco theme! lol

Ha! Those green heads look awesome! Yes, it's the memory, not the photographic skills we will remember.
