Story of My Life

With all that has happened around here in the past few months, I've fallen way behind in my de-cluttering and domestic efforts (and we all know that domestic chores are far from my strong suit anyway). Out of desperation, I finally hired a person to do a one-time deep cleaning of our house.

Of course, I had to spend a week "pre-cleaning" for the cleaning person. A lot of what I had to do involved de-cluttering. This is really hard for me, because I'm a sentimental person who hangs on to a lot of stuff I shouldn't.

In preparation for the cleaning person, I squirreled away a lot of my clutter and put the rest in decorative baskets.

So I had to laugh when I saw this "Rhymes with Orange" comic strip this morning. The photo was obviously taken in our living room. :-)

LOL....well, since I sold Longaberger baskets for 10 years, you can imagine how many I have....I must say that clutter does look better in those baskets.

I was thinking the same thing this morning when I saw the comic. As a buyer of many, many Longaberger baskets for many years, my stuff resides in many of them. :) My children sometimes count to see how many baskets are in one room!

Hey, that basket method was the one I was going to use to store my scrap stuff in the basement! LOL! Do you mean I have to actually sort through it and get rid of some of it now??!!

DH has counted my aunt's baskets at family gatherings; too funny that he's not the only one, lol.

Rhymes with Orange is my favorite overall cartoon, and I loved that particular one too!

Your organization kick must be rubbing off on me (or maybe I'm just nesting) b/c I've been trying to do some organizing and cleaning in the last couple days. You'd never know it by looking at my house though:( Maybe if I ever get it all finished...
