Feline Friday

Yikes, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted! All is well at our house.

We enjoyed a lovely Christmas with the kids visiting for the first time since last holiday season.

We had so much fun that Lily was tuckered out! It’s pitiful when you fall asleep on your Christmas stocking!

Here's to a happy and healthy new year!

Feline Friday

Funny how all cats have their own unique little "things". They are definitely creatures of habit!

Every time I roll out my yoga mat, Lily comes running. She'll often sit on the mat (brave girl!) whilst I practice but then moves to the hallway to wait for me to finish. I can hear her snoring while I'm doing my downward dogs!

Lily is not much of a lap kitty these days with one exception: When I'm drinking coffee in the morning, she'll sit on my lap for quite awhile. I know she's only looking for melted butter on someone's toast or perhaps a taste of cereal milk...but anytime she's willing to sit on my lap, I'll take it!

I love all of her little habits and routines!

Feline Friday

We were in Texas visiting our daughter and her husband over Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time hanging out for a few days!

While we were gone, Lily's Squad of cat sitters popped in every day. She loves her sitters!

Just look at these adorable pictures!

As you can see, she's in heaven!

I'm very grateful we have such good sitters that Lily and I both trust. It gives Meowmy peace of mind to know that my sweet senior girl is in good hands...er, paws!

Feline Friday with Rory

Daughter’s kitty Rory is living her best life!

From being found on the streets to having everything she could want, Rory is one lucky girl.

Games, toys, treats, blankies, and plenty of cuddles…she has it all!

She is very loved!

Feline Friday: Ranch!

What's the deal with cats (at least MY cats) and Ranch salad dressing?

Lily is crazed for it and so was our late kitty, Tinsel.

I'm talking OBSESSED!

Lily can detect Ranch from anywhere in the house, even if I'm very careful about how I open the bottle! Lately, she's become so adept at Ranch Detection that she shows up in the kitchen anytime I open a bag of salad (might be Ranch!) or even cut up some celery (Mom might be dipping it in Ranch!). It's seriously out of control!

Now of course, she only gets a few tiny tastes off of my finger. Ranch contains onion powder and garlic powder, both of which are no-no's for kitties. I think she'd enjoy the entire bottle if given the opportunity!

Lily hopes everyone has a great weekend...with RANCH!

Feline Friday

This last weekend, we set the clocks back an hour as we always do this time of year. Spouse didn't re-set Lily's automatic feeder because, frankly, it's a pain. So her dry food now dispenses at 8:30pm instead of 9:30.

When the food dispenser released its tasty morsels an hour earlier on the first evening after the time change, Lily was sound asleep and caught by surprise -- completely unaware that the clocks had been set back. But it only took once to reset her internal clock!

The next night, she woke up from her evening nap at about 8:20pm and began her routine of staring at the feeder!

Smart girl knows how to tell time! 😉

Feline Friday

Ahh, yes, it's true that I have so many pictures of Lily on my phone that I have to pay for more storage each month.

Spouse questions me every time he sees me taking a picture: "You have hundreds of that same picture!"

I actually don't think that's the case. 😉

But even so, I simply cannot resist capturing THIS sweet moment on THIS day!

Feline Friday

Who can resist this sweet doll baby?

Here is her “business in the front, party in the back” pose. I love it when she sits like this!

Feline Friday: Yoga with Lilian

Did you know that Lily is into yoga? Whenever she hears the slap of the mat against the floor, she comes running!

She’s still working on her yoga skills.  Her favorite is the resting meditation pose. She’s got that one mastered! 😸

Feline Friday

While I have had another crazy busy week, it seems that Lily has not! Let's take a look at how she's been spending her days.

First there was this...

And then she rediscovered the back of the loveseat for optimum fall viewing...

Then she did some of her posing...

Now back to the loveseat...

Her week included a partial face-grab, one of my favorites!

With all of these naps to take, I guess Lily was busy in her own way!

Feline Friday

You can always tell when the weather gets colder! Lily enjoys being swaddled in old baby blankets and they frequently ride along when she gets up from her nap.

It’s just the cutest thing ever!

Feline Friday

Maybe I've gone "round the bend" but I can't help but think there are some points of similarity here. 😍

Ok, if not a baked potato with sour cream, perhaps something like this? LOL

Feline Friday

The last few weeks have been super busy for me, as we're getting ready for some big online classes at Memory Bound. As you can see, Lily is not at all helpful with kit assembly!
She likes to be near me but will rarely stay awake to see what I'm doing. I guess she finds all of this crafty stuff pretty boring!

Actually, she must find MUCH of what I do pretty boring, as she spends most of our time together asleep!

But awake or asleep, I still love to have her company!

Feline Friday with Rory

In the years since our daughter and son-in-law have been in Texas, we've learned about these little lizard creatures. During the summer months, they're ALL around the house -- often on the windows, as you see here. They can even change colors to match their surroundings!

Along with birds, squirrels, and butterflies, these little guys provide endless hours of entertainment for Rory.

And if one happens to sneak inside the house, as they like to do when the weather gets cooler, watch out! Rory is a fierce protector of the home turf and will carry those lizards around to show them who's boss!

At least when she's awake! 😉

Feline Friday

Lily has become quite the messy eater in her senior years. She pushes food off of her plate and onto her placemat where is sticks and dries. In fact, I became concerned that she might have a problem with her teeth so I had the vet check them at her last visit. Thankfully, her toofers are fine!

So I switched her from a plate to a bowl in an effort to keep the food more confined. Now her little nose gets totally wet when she eats. I'm not sure we've solved the messy food station problem, but she sure looks adorable!

Feline Friday: Best Day Ever!

Lily loves Refill Day! It's the day when Meowmy puts more TASTY NOMS in the automatic feeder.

There's always a brief moment when the lid is off, and that's when Lily -- ever the opportunist when it comes to food -- dives in!

Lily gives a new meaning to FAST and FURIOUS! She gobbles as quickly as she can, filling her mouth up and dropping morsels onto the floor for later consumption. Then up she goes again to retrieve more! It's actually rather hilarious, which is why I let it go on for a few moments before I snap the lid back on!

Feline Friday

Is it Friday? It's been a really busy week for Lily's Meowmy. Believe it or not, I'm already starting on Christmas projects for the store!

As for Lily, she's had a calm week! Life is back to normal for her. She has her dining room sunny spots back, so she's quite happy!

One of these days, I'll finish cleaning the dining room and putting everything back in its proper place.

But as long as the sunbeams are back, Lily likes it just fine!

Oodles of Doodles

Awhile back, I decided to take an online doodling class with Wendy Vecchi. Although I doodled a lot as a kid, I have been "doodle-free" for many years now. But when I saw Wendy's doodling style, I knew it was something I wanted to try!

In class, we learned how to doodle and color flowers, leaves, and a few other simple shapes. I found it super relaxing!

One of these days, I'll share pictures of all the doodled flowers and leaves I have made. Trust me, I have quite a supply!

So now that I have a stash of doodled flowers and leaves, I decided to try a few on cards. They are completely different than any other card-making supplies I typically use! I enjoyed including these handmade flowers on the fronts of my cards.

It's time to get back to doodling more flowers for fall!

Feline Friday

The dining room project is wrapping up this week, and Lily couldn't be happier! She's not keen on walking on the paper and plastic, so I'm giving her rides up and down the stairs. Of course, I'm happy to be at her service. 😀

Because of the stairs being covered, I had move her main litterbox from the landing up to the guest bedroom. At night, I have been keeping her in that room so that she has easy access to the potty and I don't have to worry about her going up and down the stairs -- or having an accident because her litterbox is not where it should be!

In the evenings after the crew leaves, she enjoys hanging out in the family room -- close to the snacks, of course.

It's no hardship for her to be confined to the guest room. She has everything she needs, including room service!

Still, we'll all be happy to have this big project done!

Cards from the Scrap Box

I recently had a bout of low crafting mojo. It happens from time to time...nothing to worry about! Two things always help with that:

1) Organizing my craft room

2) Making cards to give away

In the past year or so, I've made and donated a lot of cards to the Cards for Kindness program. If you enjoy making cards and have more cards than people to send them to, you may enjoy sending your extras to this wonderful program. Donated cards go to a variety of organizations and are put to good use. Do check the website before you make or send cards as the themes needed vary from time to time. All cards should be blank inside and must include an envelope.

On this occasion, I made cards in the "Happy Hello" theme and decided to use up a lot of leftovers from my scrap box as well as my extra die cut pieces. It was just a matter of mixing and matching until I had paper, die cuts, and sentiments that coordinated.

I kept the designs simple and in no time at all, I had a whole batch of cards ready to send.

And the next thing you know, I'd found my missing mojo and could get back to crafting! That's a win-win in my book!
