Feline Friday: Rory Goes to the Vet

Hello, friends, and happy Feline Friday!

I'm back from a fun trip to see my daughter (and Rory) in Texas. I have lots of pictures to share and hope to do that in the coming days!

Let's start with our first activity: Taking Rory to the vet for her annual check-up! Bailey scheduled it so I could go along. I thought it would be fun to visit her vet's office (which she loves!) but it was even more fun than I expected!

Rory has made a bit of a name for herself at the vet, as she normally comes to her appointments dressed in cute outfits. They also know that she likes to explore, so she is allowed to move around the exam room as much as she likes. There's basically no containing Rory as she LOVES exploring new places!

As soon as she exited her carrier, Rory immediately hopped up on the counter and stepped on the keyboard. A slideshow started!

It was about how to weigh your cat. (Rory weighs around 11.75 pounds and is a nice size but she is still on a bit of a diet!)

Down the counter she strolled. Note the sign about restraining your pet! 😎

She stopped to check out what she thought might be a bag of treats....

...then moved right on. She had stuff to do!

Once the counter had been thoroughly checked, she moved on to the cabinets. Rory opens cabinets and drawers wherever she goes, and the vet's office is no exception. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), the cabinets have child-locks so she moved on to the bottom drawer which opened quite easily.

Before you knew it, Rory had disappeared BEHIND THE DRAWER and Bailey could not get her to come out! Now if you don't know Rory, you might think she was hiding because she didn't want to be at the vet, but actually she goes behind drawers all the time at home. It's her special trick. :)

Bailey had to remove the drawer to fish her out!

In addition to her check-up, Rory got her vaccinations and had to endure an annual fecal exam (EWWW). But she passed with flying colors AND brought many smiles to all. Maybe these pictures will bring a smile to you, too! 😊
